  1. No the music is from Alexander Sokolov. It’s not Adagio in D by John Murphy or Hans Zimmer – Time.
It’s a music created for to the lake.

  2. The background tune for a number of scenes is a variation on John Murphy’s “In a Heartbeat” (first heard in the episode where Leonids house is broken into) and “Adagio in G” (AKA Sunshine – from the movie of the same name) – as played when the group is leaving town and saying a prayer for the man on the radio.

But it also appears there is a version of Hanz Zimmer’s “Time” in the scene where Kolya is beaten by the villagers.

  3. What is the name of the song played during the double wedding in episode 8. Where can I find the translation for the words?

  4. Episode 6 ending song is definitely a diluted version of Hans Zimmers’ “Time” no argument about it. I want copyright infringement action taken LOL. I hope.

  5. Episode 4, about 24 minutes in, liked the song in the karaoke nightclub that they first danced to. Anyone know what that song was? Thanks

    • Found my own answer: S1: Episode 4 — Song playing in nightclub, woman dancing – around 22 minute mark.

Phylipp Kirkorov The Cruel Love (Zhestokaya lyubov”)

There is a YouTube video with the song.

  6. Gail, I want to know that song also. The kind of punky sounding song sung by a female from the Polina bathroom scene when she is clogging the toilet. I will let you know if I find it.

  7. In episode 4 when the doctor leaves the group, there’s a piano playing. Anyone know if that’s a part of a complete song or it’s just a short piano for the movie, I think it’s played in other episodes as well.

  8. Everybody mentions the plagiarizing of Time by Hans Zimmer, but if you listen carefully you will also hear the Interstellar theme on at least two occasions in Season 1 – also Zimmer’s work!
It’s incredible they got away with it on Netflix.

  9. Sokolov stole it from Zimmer who stole it from Murphy..

That explains why Zimmer wouldnt sue…

    To the lake(Sokolov): Released 2021
    Time (Zimmer): Released 2010
Adagio in D (Murphy): Released 2008.

    Case closed.
